We’re happy to have Ghost Culture back in the basement this week as he headlines as part of Snap, Crackle & Pop’s January residency.

The producer and DJ played his debut headline London show here back in 2014 and has since gone on to release a critically acclaimed album and grace stage and festivals across the UK and further afield.

He plays here on Friday 22 January along with rising French producer Mondowski.

JONNY HALIFAX & THE HOWLING TRUTH – TUESDAY 12 JANUARY

Demon Host is the brainchild of Full Time Hobby Records and is curated to support our favourite new and unsigned artists

‘I had the intention to try for some kind of early solo John Lee Hooker sound but played through the hijacked gear of Black Sabbath or Blue Cheer. Then there’s the latter part of those Invocation recordings where I was getting more ambitious and pushing further out with loops and effects pedals and bass harmonicas etc.’

Jonny Halifax and The Howling Truth is Halifax’ newest project after being the one-man band called Honkeyfinger. This time he’s not alone, but the music is still as dirty as it used to be. If you like bluesy rock, you’re in for a treat.

Who Me? is the next chapter in the ongoing story of Juan Wauters. Whereas his debut solo record was recorded casually over the course of one year, his sophomore album was crafted in under two weeks at Future Apple Tree in Rock Island, Illinois. Inspired by both the arrangements of Uruguayan songwriter Jaime Roos and the production of American master Dr. Dre, this collection of songs presents his continued approach to existential questioning through pop music.

The East London collective Snap, Crackle & Pop kick off 2016 with an intimate residency in the Waiting Room with some of the UKs most exciting young DJs.

This month will see DJ sets and live performances from Ghost Culture, Avalon Emerson and Baba Stiltz.

The Waiting Room has a rich history as a live space, but a recent upgrade has made it one of the city’s most exciting, intimate, underground nightclub spaces, complete with a Martin Audio Soundsystem.

Recent guests to grace the decks of the 120 cap basement have included Ivan Smagghe, Jamie XX, Nummer, Mike Skinner, Lokier and Ashworth playing extended sets, thanks to the venue’s 4am licence.
